The Love Of Your Life or The One Of Your Dreams?, Debate Thread Debate

Let me elaborate... as this could become an epic thread.

who would you choose to marry? Which one is more realistic? Are either even realistic at all? can it be possible for him/her to be the same person? also, would u one of the two, and u found the other (assuming they are not the same person), would u leave ur current relationship to be in the other one?

love of your life = hypothetically, a person you are most compatible with, even 50 years from now. Not necessarily the most beautiful person out there, but definitely attractive.

one of your dreams = hypothetically, a person who is either the most beautiful person ever or the most kindest person or some mix of both. usually, this person is out of your league and therefore whether you two are be compatible is uncertain.


GOGOgogogoogogo. i give my opinion later. and none of this 'its better to be with the person ur with right now even if they arent either of these two things' and none of the 'pointless to discuss since they are hypothetical/nonexistant/out of reach' super nonsense.

i choose love of your life. this will give you happiness and 'love' for the rest of your life, and you will never be unsatisfied. you can also argue that when you love someone, that one is the one of your dreams. just like most parents wouldn't trade their kids for NO other kids in the world, because they love them. so if you love a girl, you wouldn't want to trade her for noone, and she will be the most beautiful woman you know. so in that sense, when you love a girl, she becomes the woman of your dreams.

the one of your dreams = good for sex. ofc if she can also be ''the love of my life'', this would be a better choice(same advantages as ''the love of my life'', but also better looking in general). but if we distinguish the two girls, one is only the love of my life + not ugly looking, while the other is only the one one of my dreams(very fucking hot), the love of your life = definitely a better choice.



that being said, i think most peoples ''person of their dreams'' is a person who they can love and live with for the rest of their life and be happy with, and not a pornstar hottie. so the answer is obvious to me.

I would choose the love of my life. I'm hoping that they reciprocate the feelings. If they reciprocate my feelings, then I would never leave them. If they didn't, then I would go and chase my dream. Why chase your dreams when the love of your life is already with you?

no one is as compatible with you as your best friend, who is usually the same gender as you.

the parent of the opposite gender is the kindest to you, or at least she (or he) truly looks out for you. and who doesn't think their mom is pretteh? no one. mom = person of your dreams.

if your motives for getting us to post aren't nearly this nefarious, then i would have to go with the love of my dreams who would be hot and female and not related to me. i don't think two people of opposite genders can even be that compatible. i think a happy marriage is achieved when both spouses master ignoring the other person.

Oddly enough my friend from high school and I are opposites. We just met eachother in ~4th grade and became friends.

I'm much more compatible with the girl I met; we have almost everything in common.

i think you are mistaking me with a troll. im talking about opposite sex person (assuming u are straight) who you would potentially marry if given the chance. would u marry your mom? probably not. I wasnt referring to any best friends or mothers or anything like that. I am only asking who would you rather marry and I gave you two really awesome options (love of your life and one of your dreams) and im asking u to choose between the two.
