Computer Viruses, who agrees?

Some people say Microsoft creates their own computer viruses so people have to go out and spend money on their anti virus software. This is a great possibility that anti virus software companies do create their own viruses, but what do you think? Remember its all about the Money!

I don't think Microsoft sells anti-virus software.

Furthermore, I don't remember the last time I had a virus on any of my windows computers. There are 8 in my house. I'm pretty sure the ones that get viruses and the ones that think viruses are created by Microsoft are computer illiterate.

Microsoft might not do it themselves but they definitely pay someone else to do it... o.o

doubtful that antivirus companies make and circulate viruses.

it is all about the money though. trial versions of antivirus software will probably fabricate reports saying that it caught a virus that doesn't actually exist on your computer just to make the software appear to be useful and in working order. and you've probably seen pop ups saying that after a free scan, you have a few if viruses that require you to download or buy a certain type of virusscan, which is a lie. and let's not forget that alot of downloadable apps sell your identity and sometimes download spyware onto your computer without permission.

TL;DR! the point is this: the antivirus companies don't want to destroy a customer's computer when the customer needs it in order to be spammed. you are right about the companies chasing money.

microsoft doesn't have any commercial security products for any windows clients anymore.

Making a virus is very simple, anyone could do it with naive understanding of code. -.-;;;
There happens to be tons of viruses on Windows because it is ridiculously to code for Windows.

Next you're going to tell me Bush ordered an attack on the World Trade Centers so he could stay president for four years...

And i would guarantee anti virus companies are paying someone from behind the closed curtain to make these viruses as to force people to buy these virus protections + preventions.

Wheres the evidence for anything??? Everything was created by man so how do we know its true? If we created it then there's no supporting evidence from an outside source proving something is true other than what humans have been convinced into believing.

i don't think virus companies would make money that way. if they made and circulated viruses, then in order to protect themselves (ourselves?) people would choose to buy one of many security products out there. the chance of someone paying the same company that made the virus to protect that person from that virus is pretty small.

Let's take a look at some basic facts:

1) It is very easy to make viruses
2) it can be profitable to do so (spyware, spam, etc.)
3) Therefore people are going to make viruses

Another proof goes like this

1) It is very easy to make viruses
2) A lot of people are jerks
3) Therefor a lot of people are going to make viruses


so viruses are going to be around - a lot of them - whether or not antivirus companies make their own. So why would they bother making their own?

Also, I've never had any problems with viruses myself.
